Description from the seller

Frame size: 40 x 35 cm
Panel dimensions: 27 x 22 cm

Manolo Oyonarte (born in 1957 in Madrid) is a prominent Spanish contemporary artist and architect. He is known for his abstract works in which he combines shapes, letters and numbers in a complex interplay of "flowing abstraction".
Background and Education
Oyonarte has a diverse academic background that strongly influences his artistic vision:
Architecture: He graduated as an architect from the E.T.S. de Arquitectura de Madrid and also earned his Master’s there.
Visual Arts: He holds a PhD in Visual Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).
Academic Recognition: Since 2003 he has been a scholar at the International Academy “Il Marzocco” in Florence and an official researcher for the Greci-Marino Academy in Italy.
Artistic Style and Philosophy
His work is characterized by an investigation into the objectivity of the artwork.
Process: He often begins by automatically applying shapes and colors to the canvas to switch off his 'rational ego' and to paint from his instinct.
Theme: Although he works abstractly, the human figure is often subtly present. His style is associated with gestural abstraction and abstract landscapes.
Collectives: He is the founder of the artist groups "Tres en Realidad" (1998) and "El Emperador Desnudo" (2010).
