9 volumes in-8 (220x135 mm), paperback. Very good overall condition. Small tear on the upper edge of volume III. Interior very fresh, few foxing spots.
Second corrected, expanded, and revised edition by Cuvier himself, then by Laurillard, and later by Georges-Louis Duvernoy from volume V. 8 volumes in 9 volumes (complete).
Georges Cuvier was a professor at the Collège de France and succeeded Daubenton in the chair of Natural History in 1799. He is considered one of the fathers of comparative anatomy and paleontology in the 19th century.
