Description from the seller
TWO CHAIRS is an attractive 100x70 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This painting has a serene and enveloping atmosphere that unfolds in this scene, capturing the intimate boundary between interior and exterior. Two wicker chairs with red velvet embroidered cushions rest in front of an open door that leads to a lush tropical garden. The floor, with its classic black-and-white checkerboard pattern, provides a graphic structure that contrasts with the free, organic greenery of the exterior landscape. The walls, in intense orange and magenta tones, wrap the scene in a nearly palpable warmth, reinforcing the sense of refuge and contemplation.
The composition is built with a rich palette of saturation and contrasts, where complementary colors — reds, greens, turquoises, and yellows — generate a visual vibration that celebrates the energy of the domestic environment. The brushwork is free yet precise, creating volumes through pure color and light.
On the side table, a glass with a lemon wedge suggests a pause, a moment frozen in time, while the shadow of the leaves dances across the illuminated floor.
The work evokes a space for gathering, rest, or reading, and at the same time invites us to cross the threshold into the vegetal and the wild. The garden, with its palms and ferns, seems to expand from the interior as a promise of freedom. A celebration of dwelling, of the everyday as an aesthetic and sensory experience.
