A lovely street scene in the late twenties.
Meudon was still a popular suburban town at that time.
The photograph shows the famous Meudon viaduct on which a locomotive passes.
The work was carried out during the construction of the railway linking the Paris station-
Montparnasse to Versailles-Chantiers station.

Digital printing with a glossy laminate. Hot surface lamination.
Old Misomex mounting unit (film replication machine for printing)
offset plates).
Printer Serag. Medium resolution. Later print, 2009.
Format 19.8 × 14.8 cm, mounted on a wood panel 24 × 30 × 24 cm.
In very good condition.

A pioneer in his field, André Kertész (1894-1995) is notably known for having been
one of the first to use the Leica 35 mm portable camera.
From 1912 onward, he begins to immortalize the faces and landscapes he encounters. Enlisted in
the Austro-Hungarian army during World War I, he captures images of the conflict,
But most of his works will be destroyed during the Hungarian Revolution of 1918.
He settles in Paris in 1923 to devote himself to his passion.

There he meets figures such as Man Ray or Brassaï, to whom he teaches his knowledge.
He exhibits and also works for several magazines such as Vu or Vogue.
In 1933, he produced his most renowned series, the 'Distortions', reflections of nudes in a mirror.
