An 18 carat yellow gold necklace featuring 29 South Sea cultured pearls in champagne gold with excellent lustre, pearl diameters from 11.6 to 13.9 mm, total weight 2.5 g, and ALGT laboratory report 47763783.
Description from the seller
An important necklace with large champagne-colored pearls from the South Pacific. Large Pacific oysters, such as Pinctada maxima and Pinctada margaritifera, produce the largest and most beautiful pearls, characterized by thick nacre layers that give the pearls excellent luster. Nacre, better known as mother-of-pearl, is a crystalline substance that creates the iridescent visual effect characteristic of natural pearls. Nacre is an organic substance secreted by mollusks following the insertion into them of an irritant or implanted nucleus. Nacre is a lightweight, strong, and transparent material that allows light to pass through the surface, creating a subtle glow on the pearl’s surface.
The gold-yellow colored pearls are rare and therefore valued by collectors, very suitable for those who love high-quality pearls.
The intensity of the color, the large size, the limited cultivation area, and the long growth period are the characteristics that make South Sea pearls among the rarest gems in the world.
The necklace consists of 29 South Sea cultured pearls of excellent quality and large size.
Pearl size: from 11.6 to 13.9 millimeters.
Total weight: 88.92 grams.
Strung with intrapearl knots for better preservation of the pearl and with a large 18-carat gold clasp that emphasizes its importance and value.
