Mortlach 25 Year Old is a 25-year-old Scottish single malt from Speyside, bottled at 43% ABV in a 50 cl bottle with original packaging.
Description from the seller
Mortlach 25 Year Old is a Scottish single malt with a presence that feels both mature and complex, a whisky that invites slow, sensual sipping. The aromatic spectrum opens up into layers of dried fruit and dark chocolate, while subtle spice notes and a light smokiness form a complex foundation. The balance lies in the meeting of fruity ripeness and a hearty, almost meaty expression often associated with traditional Speyside character.
On the nose, a warm, round structure emerges that captures both nutty details and caramelized sweetness, giving an inviting start. In the mouth, the texture is full-bodied and both oily and smooth, with layers of cocoa, cloves and dried plums emerging. The finish is long and spicy with a lingering warmth that leaves flavors of dark chocolate and a hint of leather.
This whisky works excellently as a contemplative end to a meal and as a conversation drink during slow moments, while having enough body to stand up to flavorful dishes. As a source of inspiration for cocktail enthusiasts, it can be used in classics such as the Rob Roy or Rusty Nail, where the character of the distillate is allowed to play the leading role without losing its integrity.
