Description from the seller
Released in 1971, Melody Nelson's story was Serge Gainsbourg's first concept album. Written in collaboration with composer Jean-Claude Vannier, it tells the story of Melody Nelson, a young red-haired woman portrayed by the singer's muse, Jane Birkin. She lends her voice to the character on several songs of the album and her image by posing on the cover. As expected, Gamma Agency was present to document the legendary photo session.
