AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A great painter on Long Island, a most refined gallerist in Manhattan, capable of discovering talents that have left an indelible mark on world art history. Copy and paste from Wikipedia:
In 1940 she became director of the Wakefield Bookshop art gallery. Four years later she directed the modern art section of the Mortimer Brandt Gallery, and in 1946 she opened her own gallery in Manhattan, the Betty Parsons Gallery, to continue exhibiting her artists. The gallery was shared with the Sidney Janis Gallery and mostly exhibited works by abstract expressionists, including Jackson Pollock, William Congdon, Ad Reinhardt, Clyfford Still, Ellsworth Kelly, Mark Rothko, Barnett Newman, Bradley Walker Tomlin and Robert Rauschenberg. However, many of the artists she had helped to make known left her for other, more affluent gallerists. Subsequently she began to work with a newer generation of artists, including Agnes Martin, Tōkō Shinoda, Jasper Johns and Richard Pousette-Dart.
I have two of her works and I’m proposing the smaller and more accessible one, given that the cost of her works is skyrocketing.
