This object is an antique German silverplate and cobalt dark blue glass centerpiece bowl, WMF / Geislingen - Jardinière - Silverplated .
specifically identified in some archival listings as a Rococo fretwork serving piece crafted in 1886.
While WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) is a renowned German manufacturer
known for similar silver-plated and cobalt glass centerpieces from the late 19th and early 20th centuries,
this specific design is attributed to German silverplate.

*Design Style: The frame features elaborate Rococo fretwork, common in late 19th-century German silverware. Similar WMF pieces often utilize Neoclassical or Art Nouveau motifs like swags, reeded columns, and foliate feet.
*Materials: It consists of a reticulated (pierced) metal frame, silverplate, housing a removable cobalt blue glass liner.
*Usage: These items were typically used as jardinieres, bonbonnières, or sweetmeat dishes for formal table settings.
