‘With My Pussycat’, a lithography by Karel Appel published in 1978.
Signed and dated in graphite in the lower left margin of the sheet; edition in the lower right. This edition has the unique ‘PP’ numbering.
In art, PP stands for Printer’s Proof. It is a special, limited print given to the printer(s) as a courtesy and recognition for their work on the edition, rather than for general sale. These proofs are typically identical in quality to the final edition and are often kept for archival purposes or as reference.

The artwork is in very good condition.
This lithograph is a beautiful abstract composition full of vibrant colors. It is a very nice example of Northern European expressionism. The combination of the bright colors makes this artwork a truly unique and exclusive piece. Karel Appel is one of the most important exponents of European expressionism. In 1948, he founded the Cobra movement with other well-known artists like Corneille, Carl Henning Pedersen, Asger Jorn, and Pierre Alechinsky.
