Hugo Duchateau, s.t. (1989), a limited edition numbered 193/250, with mixed technique including screenprint, blind embossing and linocut (monotype) on handmade Zerkall paper, 35 × 25 cm, signed and dated, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Hugo Duchateau – untitled (1989)
A distinctive mixed-media work by Belgian artist Hugo Duchateau (born 1938). This piece was created in 1989 as part of the “10x250” series, issued to mark the 250th anniversary of Groep Van Roey (1740–1990).
The composition presents an expressively rendered oak leaf in monochrome black tones, placed above a vertical gold-colored plane. The combination of natural organic form and clean geometric pillar creates a tension between nature and abstraction — a recurring theme in Duchateau's oeuvre. The subtle play between matte and metallic surfaces enhances the visual impact.
