Jan Vanriet, s.t., 1993 lithograph in a limited edition of 10 (III/X), hand-signed and dated in pencil, 35.8 x 30 cm, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Jan Vanriet (born 1948, Belgian)
Untitled, 1993
Color lithography / mixed graphic techniques on paper
35.8 x 30 cm
Edition: III/X (3/10)
Signed and dated bottom right in pencil: Vanriet 93
Numbered bottom-left in pencil: III/X
This powerful graphic edition from 1993 is a characteristic work by Jan Vanriet, one of the most important Belgian artists of his generation, known for his expressive visual language and a literarily infused visual world.
The composition shows a layered, partly figurative depiction with organic forms against an intensely red-green color field. The dynamic brushwork and the interplay between transparency and material density are typical of Vanriet's oeuvre from the 1990s, in which memory, embodiment, and fragmentation are central.
This copy is part of an exceptionally small edition of only 10 copies (III/X), which significantly increases its rarity and collectibility. The work is hand-signed and dated in pencil by the artist.
Jan Vanriet represented Belgium at the Venice Biennale (2009) and his work is part of important museum collections at home and abroad. Limited-edition graphic works from the 1990s are increasingly valued within the market for contemporary Belgian art.
Condition: In good condition, with bright colors and intact edges (see photos).
A rare and collectible edition by an internationally recognized Belgian artist.
