Description from the seller
Up for auction: Rare postcard of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
With this postcard, Generalcine, the Italian exclusive distributor of the RKO Radio Films catalog in the 1930s, proudly announced the distribution, for Christmas 1938, of Walt Disney's masterpiece, the first feature-length animated film in Technicolor. The film had just won at the Venice Film Festival the Grand Trophy of Art and was a great success throughout Italy.
The drawing faithfully reproduces the film’s first American poster, by illustrator Gustaf Tenggren. On the back, the film is proudly described as the “wonder of wonders,” and it is emphasized that it is in color and embossed (in relief), terms with which, in the Fascist era, the original poster’s Multiplane Technicolor wording was Italianized.
Dimensions:14x18cm
Almost in good condition; signs of wear.
A small tear and a central crease mark.
Pencil removed (clearly it was written on the back and some characters were drawn on the white part); there are photos to highlight.
Photos are to be considered an integral part of the description. For details and signals, see the photos.
PLEASE NOTE: Customs duties or taxes are not included in the price of the item or in the shipping charges. These costs are the buyer's responsibility.
