Description from the seller
Antique 1-row “Wiener” diatonic accordion, produced in the Vogtland region (Germany) circa 1890–1910.
This instrument represents an early Central European folk accordion type that was widely distributed at the end of the 19th century. It should not be confused with a Schrammelharmonika; this is a single-row “Wiener” model.
Specifications:
• Single-row diatonic system
• 21 buttons
• Decorative and functional metal trumpet resonators
• Hand-painted floral bellows and side panels
• Central medallion inscribed “DEM VERDIENSTE”
• “TRADE MARK” inscription with anchor emblems
• Original metal grills
• Original solid wooden transport case included
Condition:
Very good overall preservation considering its age (approx. 120–130 years).
The instrument shows authentic signs of age and use, including wear to painted surfaces and minor cosmetic imperfections consistent with its period. These have not been restored or altered.
Bellows visually well preserved.
Instrument not recently tested; professional servicing may be required if intended for active musical use.
Ideal for:
• Collectors of antique European folk instruments
• Organology enthusiasts
• Decorative historical display
• Restoration projects
A complete and well-preserved example of a late 19th century German “Wiener” accordion with its original wooden case — increasingly difficult to find in this condition.
