Description from the seller
LA ENSOÑACIÓN is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. In this painting, everyday objects float in a space where logic has been suspended. A plate decorated with floral motifs holds two intensely red tomatoes; a fork rests on the edge as if it still belonged to the real world. However, the whole thing rises on a blue geometric block, surrounded by clouds and silent architecture.
The composition combines still life and metaphysical landscape. The volumes are clear, defined, almost sculptural. The elongated perspective and the dense shadows recall Italian Metaphysical painting: deserted plazas, classical statues, distant factories. Everything seems suspended in an uncertain hour.
The fruits — one orange cut open, another whole — introduce a sensorial, domestic dimension. But here they are not presented as traditional still life, but as displaced elements, torn from their usual context. The plate does not rest on a stable table: it hovers, supported by an impossible architecture.
The blue block acts as a pedestal and as a boundary between the tangible and the imagined. Under it, clouds accumulate, as if the ground had transformed into atmosphere. The classical statue in the background reinforces the dialogue between memory and dream, between tradition and fantasy.
The daydream presents a scene where reality reorders itself according to the rules of inner thought. It is not a chaotic dream, but a serene dream, built with geometric precision. Everyday objects become symbols of introspection: food as memory, the table as an altar, the landscape as a mental state.
A work that transforms the still life into a metaphysical stage, where the domestic becomes poetic and silence takes shape.
