Description from the seller
CHALET COLONIAL is a 70×100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This domestic interior scene becomes a celebration of color, light, and Mediterranean architecture. The scene places us inside a vibrant kitchen, where the red doors, opened, function as the compositional axis and as a bridge between the interior and the exterior.
The color contrast is bold and harmonious: pink walls converse with a warm yellow, while the intense green furniture balances the composition. The black-and-white checkered floor introduces geometric rhythm and depth, guiding the eye toward the threshold that leads to the garden.
Through the open doors, a small courtyard full of lush vegetation appears. A yellow chair in the shade of the plants suggests rest, conversation, and everyday life. The brushstroke is loose and expressive, especially in the vegetation, where greens overlap freely and energetically.
In the foreground, details such as the fruit-filled table, the red teapot, and the kitchen utensils add warmth to the scene. They are simple objects, yet imbued with intimacy and a human presence, even though the figure is not visible.
The work evokes a colonial ambiance reinterpreted with a contemporary sensibility: it is not a literal historical depiction, but an atmosphere. It is a luminous, welcoming, and vital painting, where the house becomes a refuge and color becomes emotion.
