Original mixed-media batik titled 'Egon, batik malowany, 49x100cm' by Adela M., created in the 2020s, hand-signed, from Poland, 49 by 100 cm.
Description from the seller
Mixed media painting - batik painted with black and white acrylic paint. Dimensions: 49x100 cm. Inspired by the work "Self-Portrait with Raised Shoulders" by Egon Schiele. Painted with acrylics and refreshed this year (2026); the batik itself was created a few years earlier.
Batik is a very labor-intensive, time-consuming, and unpredictable technique. It involves applying hot wax to the fabric, and then dyeing it in dye baths. A characteristic feature of batik is the network of cracks formed as the wax cracks.
Traditionally, batik is mounted in bamboo, which allows sending the work rolled. If someone prefers paintings in a frame, it is easy to remove the staples that attach the batik to the bamboo.
The author of the work is Adela Marchewka, a graduate of higher artistic studies with a Master of Arts degree. After studies, she explored the secrets of batik (wax painting) and attended the Academy of Open Learning at the Faculty of Sculpture of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She has participated in many exhibitions. Member of the Polish Association of Visual Artists.
Batik is shipped rolled, without a frame. Shipment with a tracking number will be carefully secured and sent within 3 business days. Personal pickup possible.
