Description from the seller
Title: The Break
School: European School (20th century)
Author: Signed and dated 1945
Style: Naturalist landscape painting with impressionist influence
Technique: Oil on canvas
Naturalistic landscape depicting a countryside setting dominated by a lush group of trees in the foreground. The vegetation, worked with loose and vibrant brushwork, combines a wide range of nuanced greens with yellowish touches that suggest the incidence of light on the foliage.
In the central area a path or clearing opens up, guiding the gaze toward a more open landscape, where shrubs and gentle undulations of the terrain are evident, resolving the background with a slightly veiled atmosphere and a sky in bluish gray tones. The composition balances dense vegetal masses with open spaces, creating depth and a sense of airiness.
The workmanship shows a confident execution, with an interest in capturing natural light and the spontaneity of the surroundings, characteristics typical of European landscape painting in the mid-20th century.
The work is presented in a carved and gilded wooden frame, of classical style, with relief decoration of vegetal motifs on the exterior molding. The gilded finish shows patina and slight wear in keeping with its age, adding presence and character to the whole.
Observations:
The work presents a good overall state appropriate to its age, with slight signs typical of the passage of time.
The frame comes as a gift. It may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging.
Measurements: 94.5 x 75.8 cm
The artworks are shipped without insurance. If you wish to arrange insurance for transport, please request it in a private message beforehand. If not requested, we will not be responsible for any damages that occur during transport.
Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by an additional charge due to reasons such as being outside a continental territory, exceeding measurements or weight of the item. PremiArt will not cover this surcharge under any circumstances.
Due to problems at the border with Switzerland, we are obliged to inform that shipments with more than 1 meter in length or height to that destination will not be carried out.
