Brief description of the work
A female figure captured in a tilted and close pose, where the compositional cut emphasizes the tension between physical presence and emotional distance. The saturated red background envelops the figure like a continuous energy field, amplifying the perception of warmth and vulnerability.
The painterly construction alternates soft and veiled areas with more direct and gestural passages, letting matter emerge as an active part of the image. The face maintains essential definition while the body tends to dissolve into luminous patches and transparencies, creating a balance between figuration and loss of form.
The work plays on the contrast between chromatic intensity and expressive suspension: the figure appears simultaneously exposed and distant, as if traversed by light and color rather than depicted in a realistic way.

Artistic process
The work arises from a gestural and layered painting process. The initial drawing is made with charcoal and/or sanguine, subsequently fixed and integrated with oil colors and gum arabic interventions. The pours, corrosions, fades and partially unresolved areas are intentional elements of the painting language and derive directly from the execution gesture.

Conditions
Work in generally good condition. There are surface variations, runs and absorbencies of the support consistent with the technique used. Slight irregularities of the cardboard and tonal differences are characteristics of the creative process and not defects.
The edges show a white unpainted margin due to the fixation of the cardboard during the painting process; any light fraying along the edges is normal consequences of studio work.

Her work investigates the human figure through a gestural and direct language, in balance between drawing and painting dissolution.
