Description from the seller
Anton Heyboer (1924-2005)
Due to his unconventional lifestyle, Anton Heyboer belonged to the most eccentric Dutch artists of the past decades. His turbulent lifestyle manifested itself in five marriages. He also described himself as 'the Robin Hood of the art world,' referring to his high output of art. Heyboer was trained as a mechanical engineer. After World War II he began drawing, albeit still in a traditional style. Between 1954 and 1957 he developed his own philosophical framework on which his abstract artworks originated. Yet there remain always figurative elements in his paintings and etchings. He also clarified the themes of his work with texts, in which human relationships often play a role.
Viewing is, of course, possible. In addition we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary year. Furthermore we make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to take advantage of this, of course we would be happy to hear from you.
