Important painting from Bruno Cassinari's collection (Piacenza, October 29, 1912 – Milan, March 26, 1992)
International author present in Italian and foreign museums - Museo del Novecento in Milan and several Venice Biennales
Bruno Cassinari (Piacenza, 1912 - Milan, 1992). He attended the courses at the Piacenza School of Art and began sculpting in 1926, portraying his mother in clay. In 1938 he graduated from the Brera Academy and started selling his works. Vittorini discovered his talent and presented the catalog of his first solo exhibition at the Corrente gallery. Success came with winning two important prizes: Premio Giovani Pittori and Premio Bergamo. In 1946 he joined Nuova Sessione, a Venetian movement that included Birolli, Santomaso, Vedova. In 1947 he went to Paris to exhibit at the Milione Gallery and in 1948 he exhibited at the Venice Biennale. During the summer of 1949, while in Antibes, he met Picasso, who, interested in his work, invited him to exhibit at the Antibes Museum. Back in Milan he won several prizes and his work traveled the world, exhibiting in the major international cities. Among the most important painters of twentieth-century Italy.
