PIX A’s acrylic on canvas portrait “Yellow Blindness - XXL”, original, 2026, hand signed, 145 × 100 cm (total canvas about 155 × 110 cm), Germany origin, sold direct from the artist; excellent condition, with an included certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
This large-scale expressive portrait emerges through layers of luminous yellow, partially veiling and revealing the face beneath. The composition is built through energetic, instinctive brushstrokes, creating a tension between figuration and abstraction. The gaze remains present yet obscured — as if dissolving into light.
The dominant yellow palette radiates intensity and psychological charge. It is not decorative; it acts as a force, engulfing the features and transforming the portrait into a field of emotional vibration. Hints of blue, green and red pulse beneath translucent white gestures, giving depth and movement to the surface.
The work explores visibility and erasure: how identity persists even when almost overwhelmed by color and matter. The face is not described — it appears, disappears, and reappears depending on the viewer’s distance.
Painted in a spontaneous, gestural approach, this piece stands between contemporary expressionism and raw emotional portraiture. The surface remains dynamic, with visible brush energy and layered transparency.
A powerful statement work, ideal for collectors seeking a bold, luminous and psychologically charged presence.
