Description from the seller
Italian political artist and cartoonist Franz Borghese (1941-2005). Highly published artist renowned for his political and satire cartoons and illustrations, both in colour and in black and white.
This lithograph is an artist proof lithograph or aquatint on thin paper, likely a test piece before a proper print. It is similar to published works called Viva la Guerra but in black and white rather than colour.
The artwork was printed onto a yellowish paper which was then glued onto card stock.
Signed on the lower left “Borghese” and “pda” on the right for “prova d’autore”.
There are some imperfections as the paper has lifted in small spots at the edges.
