AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Original lithograph “Le Chat”, an artist’s proof by Sacha SOSNO.

Numbered work no. 34/50, dated 1993
Dimensions: 31 cm x 38 cm

Alexandre Sosnowsky, alias Sacha Sosno, was born in Marseille to a father from Estonia and a Niçoise mother. He grew up between Riga (the capital of Latvia) and Nice where, in 1948, as he was barely discovering painting, Henri Matisse was his neighbor on the same floor. In 1956, he met Yves Klein and Arman.

Most of Sacha Sosno’s works are “obliterated,” in other words, they include an opening that allows one to see through. The idea? “Hide to see better.” A brilliant pioneer, in 2002, in collaboration with architects Yves Bayard and Francis Chapus, he realized Nice’s first inhabited giant sculpture: a 26-meter aluminum head that houses the offices of the City Library. A world-renowned artist, his works are present in major public and private collections.
