Set of 2 Aurora Hastil pens designed by Marco Zanuso, in solid 925 silver and gold-tone finish, 13 cm in length and 1 cm in diameter, produced in Italy in the mid-20th century, NOS with original box and certificate.
Description from the seller
Set of 2 Aurora Hastil Pens - Design Marco Zanuso - Solid 925 Sterling Silver & Gold-Tone Finish - NOS (New Old Stock) with Box & Papers.
Description:
Offered for auction is an exclusive set featuring two iconic examples of the Aurora Hastil, a masterpiece of Italian industrial design created by architect Marco Zanuso in 1970. This model holds the prestigious distinction of being the first writing instrument ever exhibited in the Permanent Design Collection of the MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York.
Technical Specifications:
Item 1: Solid 925 Sterling Silver. A high-end version featuring the characteristic "milleraies" (fine-lined) satin finish. This pen bears the official hallmarks ("925" and silversmith's marks) certifying the purity of the precious metal.
Item 2: Gold-Tone Finish (Ecobrass / Gold Plated). A stunning example in a polished golden finish. This version is hallmark-free, consistent with the high-quality gold-plated or Ecobrass editions produced by Aurora during the same era.
Condition: Both pens are in NOS (New Old Stock) condition. These are archival pieces from a private collection, never used and never inked. They maintain their original luster, though very minor storage marks may be present due to decades of preservation.
Provenance & Set: Each pen is accompanied by its original presentation box and the authentic vintage guarantee certificate.
Operational Note: As these are vintage New Old Stock items, the original refills are included but may require replacement for daily use due to the natural drying of ink over time.
