Description from the seller
Description of the work:
The Night Watchman is a solitary lighthouse set against a cold, untamable sea. The sky is heavy, laden with dark clouds, almost in motion, while the land, frosted, traces a narrow path leading to the tower. The frozen grasses bend under the wind but do not break.
At the base of the lighthouse, a small house softly lights the night, reminding us of human presence, humble and discreet. The lighthouse’s warm, steady light cuts through the landscape’s violence: it does not struggle, it watches.
Everything in this image speaks of silent resilience, constancy, and accepted solitude. It is not a refuge from the world, but a fixed point when everything falters.

Words from the artist:
For a long time I have carried this simple, radical dream:
to live in a lighthouse.
To be alone facing the sea, far from noise, far from the constant rush.
To think about this world that stirs, consumes, compares, exhausts itself…
and to stay there, still.
I imagine myself at the base of this lighthouse, with my fishing gear, a small boat,
setting out to sea every day, returning, living with little, but living just.
Surviving in the noble sense of the term.
The Night Watchman embodies this inner stance:
not fleeing the world in anger,
but stepping away from it with lucidity.
Stand tall.
Watch.
And let the storm pass.
