Description of the work:
The White Silence represents a solitary polar bear, still on frozen ground, facing the immensity.
Nothing moves. Nothing cries out. Everything is there.
The animal does not dominate the landscape, it is part of it.
It does not advance, it does not attack, it observes.
In this world of cold and silence, every step counts, every breath is measured.
This work speaks of restraint, patience and what is essential.
It evokes a strength that does not need to express itself to exist, a calm, sovereign, almost spiritual presence.
The white is not an emptiness: it is a response.
A response to the bustle, to the noise, to excess.
Artist’s note:
I have always been drawn to places where almost nothing remains.
The North, the cold, the silent lands have taught me one simple thing: when you remove the superfluous, the essential remains.
This bear is not alone, it is whole.
It expects nothing, it asks for nothing.
It is here, and that is enough.
The White Silence is this inner space that one reaches when one stops running, when one accepts living with little, but true.
Before the noise. Before man. Before excess.
