Description from the seller
Title: Opposing Forces
Series: Geometric Emotion
Technique: Acrylic/Canvas
The painting is built from a carefully tensioned geometric composition. The dominant element is a large tilted red plane crossing the center of the work, breaking the stability of the horizontal axis and generating an immediate sense of movement. This diagonal introduces dynamism and acts as a visual focus, while the background rectangles —organized in blocks of color— establish a more stable and modular structure. The black lines, straight and precise, function as a kind of graphic scaffolding: they connect, delimit, and guide the eye through space. The circles, both the small one in the upper left and the larger one toward the right, provide formal contrast against the rectangular rigidity, softening the rhythm and creating visual breathing points.
Color plays a decisive role in the emotional balance of the work. The deep red is the protagonist: intense, solid, and charged with energy. It does not appear isolated, but dialogues with light tones —beige or cream— and with soft blues that refresh the composition. The contrast between red and blue generates an interesting visual vibration, an interaction between warmth and coolness. The black, used in lines and vertical bars, adds weight, structure, and a strong graphic accent that reinforces the sense of rational order.
Emotionally, the work transmits a mix of contained energy and intellectual control. The red diagonal suggests impulse, rupture, or displacement, while the underlying grid of lines and blocks provides stability and method. There is a constant tension between the dynamic and the structured, as if the painting represented a system in transformation. The overall feeling is not chaotic, but intensely calculated: a modern harmony where emotion arises from the relationship between opposing forces —balance and imbalance, calm and vibration—.
Overall, the painting evokes a visual language close to design, architecture, or technical schemes, but without losing its poetic dimension. It is a work that invites perceiving rhythms, directions, and tensions more than seeking a literal narrative, letting the emotional experience emerge from the play between form and color.
