Artist biography: Nguyen Robert, born 1958.

Born in 1958 in Ben Tre, an authentic village nestled in the heart of the Mekong Delta, Nguyen Robert is a Franco-Vietnamese artist whose work stands out for a singular fusion between Asian traditions and Western artistic influences. From a very young age, he was fascinated by the rural architecture of his surroundings, the lines of traditional houses, the volumes of floating markets, the shadows cast by water palms — all elements that would become the basis of his visual language.

Having always lived in his native region, Nguyen Robert over the decades developed a deeply contemporary, modern and distinctly architectural style. His paintings explore structures, lines, urban rhythms and geometric abstraction, while maintaining a poetic sensitivity inherent to Vietnamese culture.

His Franco-Vietnamese heritage enriches his approach: he borrows from the West the rigor of modern compositions and the boldness of contrasts, while his Vietnamese soul injects gentleness, spirituality and fluidity into his works. The result is a pictorial universe where modernity meets the timeless, where geometry dialogues with light, creating paintings of great visual power.

Renowned for his ability to transform everyday life into abstract landscapes, Nguyen Robert is today considered one of the distinctive voices of contemporary delta Mekong painting. He continues his work in his studio in Ben Tre, surrounded by the landscapes that shaped his identity, and continues to exhibit in several galleries in Asia and Europe, captivating collectors and art lovers seeking deeply modern, structured, and vibrant works.
