From my parents' estate comes a color lithograph by Paul Wunderlich titled "Hunting Poetry" (Jagdpoesie) for auction.
The lithograph shows a surreal depiction of a woman with a falcon. The print is titled and signed by the artist and has a limited edition of 1000 copies; here it is number 190/1000.

The work is listed in the artist's catalog raisonné (No.702 - Riediger).
In the coming weeks I will auction further works by Paul Wunderlich and other artists (including Christian Mischke, Karl Korab, Ida Kerkovius, Fernand Léger, Arik Brauer, and Václav Macać) from my parents' estate.

About the artist:
Paul Wunderlich (born March 10, 1927 in Eberswalde; died June 6, 2010 in Saint-Pierre-de-Vassols, Provence) was a German painter, draftsman, sculptor, and graphic artist. In his neo-surrealist paintings and sculptures he primarily explored erotic and mythological themes.
In 1947 he became a student at the Hamburg State Academy of Fine Arts, where he enrolled in the Free Graphics class taught by Willi Titze. His fellow students included Horst Janssen and Reinhard Drenkhahn. After a hiatus, he resumed his studies in 1950 and completed them in 1951 with Willem Grimm.
Subsequently he worked as a lecturer at the Hamburg Academy of Fine Arts, teaching lithography and etching techniques. Also in 1951 he printed for Emil Nolde ("Der König und seine Mannen", etching) and in 1952 for Oskar Kokoschka the graphic suite "Ann Eliza Reed" with eleven lithographs.
After an early, essentially realist phase, he developed his characteristic style around 1959. His early works depict dismembered, disproportionate bodies against empty backgrounds.
In 1963 he returned to Hamburg and became (until 1968) a professor at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts (HfbK) as the successor to Georg Gresko, and in 1969 began creating sculptures and plastic works in bronze under the influence of Salvador Dalí.
Wunderlich lived and worked in Hamburg and Saint-Pierre-de-Vassols (Provence), where he died after a short severe illness in 2010.
