Description from the seller
Oil on board, 2022, 46.5 x 46.5 cm, signed bottom right with certificate of authenticity. The title “In Suspense” translates the existential moment experienced by this person lying on their back with their hands on their head. The painter offers every viewer the possibility of their own exclusive reading, leaving them free to feel the work without pre-judgments or influences that distort its original meaning, which can belong only to the painter when she conceived it.
Sandra Chinelate, Brazilian, works on the physical and existential investigation conducted with the tools of figurative painting. A graduate in literature, and as a child a self-taught artist, she moved to Italy and, influenced by her multiple sociolinguistic gaze, conducts her painting research with the aim of promoting an encounter between different social subjects, where different ages, skin colors, passions and human perplexities are contemplated starting from a strong desire on the part of the artist to exalt their facets, safeguarding her characters from any pre-judgment. Since 2006 she has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions. She works with oil and mixed media on canvas and board.
