Description from the seller
Salvatore Fiume (Italy, 1915–1997) was one of the protagonists of Italian art in the 20th century, known for a monumental and symbolic figuration, characterized by archetypal female figures, suspended atmospheres, and a cultivated yet instantly recognizable language.
The work Figure belongs to the mature graphic production of Salvatore Fiume and depicts a nude female figure paired with a horse and a second figure in the background, set within a symbolically charged interior.
The composition, based on warm color blocks and a concise painterly gesture, is consistent with the artist’s figurative language in the seventies.
The work is a color lithograph/graphic print executed with mixed media on paper, signed in pencil on the front lower right and numbered in pencil 92/150 on the lower left.
It is printed on high-quality paper for art graphics, bearing a blind stamp “Fiume controlled,” guaranteeing the artist’s direct control over the edition.
Overall, good condition.
The work shows some signs of manipulation and normal handling along the edges and do not affect the central area of the image nor the graphic surface, which remains intact.
