AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A0000001982

Very good overall condition for a Waterman 52 in Ripple Red ebonite, a material that often shows discoloration or loss of intensity over time.

The red veined ebonite retains a deep, uniform color, with excellent definition of the characteristic black wavy pattern of the model. No severe color loss, greenish oxidation, or notable pigment loss is observed, especially valued in this finish. The surface remains naturally glossy after a light professional polish, showing only micro surface marks from use and age, with no cracks, fissures, or visible repairs.

The cap shows very good structural integrity, with a firm thread and secure closure. The gold ring retains good plating, with very slight wear in line with its more than 90 years of age.

The “IDEAL” ball-end clip is straight, firm, and functional, with legible engraving and light wear in the areas of most contact. No play or deformations.

On the cap at the bottom, the marking “52” is visible and coherent with the model.

The original Waterman Ideal 14K nib preserves sharp engravings and excellent alignment of the nibs. No cracks or structural deformations observed. Maintains good elasticity and response, emblematic of this model. The ebonite feed is intact, with no cracks or material loss.

The lever-filler system operates correctly. The lever has good tension and proper return. (If it has been restored: the sac replaced recently and ready for immediate use).

It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
