A magnificent editorial achievement in a volume measuring mm. 260 x 370 x 70 compacting 1,024 pages in which the Sacred Scripture in the German version (but a French, English and Italian edition is also planned) is enriched by 280 illustrations, many full-page, and no fewer than 1,400 initials all in color reproducing the original chromatic richness with the exclusive use of gold leaf. One is impressed and fascinated while leafing through this volume, in which the miniatures, even those spatially limited, offer both a wide color range with numerous tonal gradations and a measured richness of figurative details always respecting the dimensions and shapes."
