Description from the seller
Květa Pacovská (1928 – 2023).
A unique experimental work.
1966.
Technique: Original color screenprint.
Support: translucent, high-weight artistic tracing paper.
Signature: Handwritten monogram "PA 66" in ink.
Dimensions: 27.5 x 21.5 cm. As maximum measurements since the tracing paper has an irregular manual cut. The piece retains its original workshop dimensions, including the technical margins where the fabrication mark "5 D… S…" is partially visible.
Condition: Excellent state of preservation. No tears, no visible stains, and no restorations.
This red screenprint, the artist's iconic color, is an exceptional testament to the most experimental phase of Květa Pacovská and a masterpiece of the Czech Avant-Garde. In this period, the artist began to use tracing paper as a dynamic support to explore transparency and the layering of planes, laying the foundations for her future, award-winning books-objects.
The work features the hand-made monogram "PA 66" in ink. This intertwined signature is the essential cataloging mark used by the artist in the mid-60s.
Purely graphic pieces independent from 1966 are extremely rare on the market.
