About the work:
"Aloe" (Alien Lost On Earth) embodies a human being who feels foreign in the contemporary world, immersed in a society where cultural richness seems in decline, growing insecurity and a future lacking clarity. This evocative character transports us to the heart of a deep nostalgia for the 1980s, a time that emotionally reflects a past now distant and irreplaceable, bearing timeless memories.
Despite feeling out of sync with this world, he tries, almost unwillingly, to blend in, exploring subtleties to gradually assimilate.
About the artist:
Frédéric Truteau, a self-taught painter, was born in Marseille in 1970; he now lives near Aix-en-Provence.
With Frédéric Truteau, humor and irony are precious artistic tools.
An artifice to counter the conventional ideas and situations commonly accepted.
Dare, jostle, disturb, surprise—no matter what.
For Frédéric Truteau, the essential aim is to provoke a reaction by sharing his own view of things.
