Limited edition lithograph by Pablo Picasso, produced in France in the 1960s-70s using pochoir lithography on Arches paper (the watermark and the “EUROART” mark are visible) and framed in Switzerland. In excellent condition, with the period frame and signed on the plate by the artist. The masking tape on the back has the sole function of sealing more securely and reinforcing the frame.
DETAILS:
Title of the work: “Bacchanale” (1955)
Technique: pochoir lithography on
watermarked Arches paper.
Framed size: 50 x 65 cm.
Unlike ordinary lithographs, pochoir is a stencil coloring technique. Manually cut stencils are used to apply layers of pigment or watercolor over a lithographic base, reproducing with extreme precision the brushstrokes and tonal nuances of the inks from Picasso’s original.
