THE PILGRIMAGE (a Place to Charge)
Fine Art Print by Inna Etuvgi

We all know what it means to be depleted and to desperately seek a recharge.

This work is created through the lens of Radical Empathy — a way of seeing in which the artist does not merely observe an object, but momentarily becomes it. Inhabiting the experience of a pair of wireless earbuds, Etuvgi visualizes their existence: being small, lost, separated, and depleted of energy. What seems like a minor everyday inconvenience is transformed into a quiet contemporary pilgrimage.

It is an act of Cybernetic Animism: our very human habit of projecting emotions, hope, and even a bit of "soul" onto the gadgets that follow us everywhere.

After all, we are all just travelers looking for a place to plug in. It’s a survival ritual for the modern soul :)

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Inna Etuvgi is a Swedish-Chukchi artist whose work defines the concept of Cybernetic Animism—a bridge between indigenous Arctic intuition and technical precision. Raised in a remote village in Chukotka and trained in technical cybernetics, Etuvgi explores the shared "soul" of natural ecosystems and digital algorithms.

Internationally recognized as an Arte Laguna Prize finalist (Venice) and a recipient of the Swedish Arts Grants Committee grant, her work is held in private collections worldwide. As art critic Tabish Khan notes: “Her work transports us to other worlds—bot
