About the artist:
Park Dong-Soo is a Korean artist born in 1964 in Seosan. A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts de Versailles and holder of a Master’s degree from the University of Paris VIII, he settled in Paris in 1990 before returning to South Korea in 2008, where he lives today near nature.
In 2023, he exhibited at the National Museum of Asian Arts - Guimet with a spectacular installation, comprising a set of canvases and sculptures.
His work, centered on cosmogony and the formation of the universe, explores the tension between chaos and harmony, microcosm and macrocosm. Black, omnipresent, structures his compositions where the circle signifies primitive energy and the cycle of life. He uses materials such as oil, acrylic, Chinese ink, and hanji paper, creating reliefs that evoke lava and telluric forces.
