Description from the seller
Bruno Paolo Benedetti, born in 1954, began taking photographs in 1968, studying perspective and photo techniques. From the beginning, he was concerned with black-and-white photography, observing the contrasts of nature, the lights, and interpreting the reality around him. When he was 25, he began to work in the darkroom, refining his technique with filters and high-contrast films to create his first surreal and abstract photographs. At the same time, he started traveling around Europe and the world: India, Nepal, Bhutan, South America, South Africa, Egypt, and the Comoros are some of the places he visited most. The study of the religions and the mysticism in all of them inspired his artistic production, especially his surreal photography, where cultural and religious archetypes are depicted.

White and Blue Abstractions
This original contemporary photograph captures a fleeting moment where light and water merge into a fluid abstraction of remarkable elegance. Soft ivory tones dissolve into deep, luminous blues, while delicate dark lines trace organic forms across the surface, creating a composition that feels both spontaneous and meticulously balanced.
The image is entirely derived from natural reflections, transformed by movement into a painterly visual language reminiscent of abstract expressionism. The interplay between brightness and shadow generates depth and quiet dynamism, inviting the viewer to discover shifting shapes and subtle details within the surface.
Refined yet emotionally resonant, this work stands as a sophisticated exploration of perception, distortion, and light — a compelling addition to any contemporary art collection.
Exhibitions:
Venice misteriosa, Venice, November 2015
Internazionale Italia Arte, MITO Turin, May 2013
Cinema Farnese Rome, June–July 2012
Cinema Farnese, Rome, May–September 2013
