Sometimes it feels as if something heavy is resting on us. As if dark areas had slid on top of each other and were trying to suffocate the glow underneath. "Blockade" tells of exactly this moment – of feeling stuck, not seeing a way through, not spotting a clear path.

And yet there is this blue.

It breaks through the seams, glints between the black layers, breathes under the pressure. It is not loud, not pushy – but unmistakable. Like a thought that cannot be suppressed. Like hope that refuses to disappear.

The black forms act like barriers, like protective shields or obstacles – perhaps imposed from the outside, perhaps erected by oneself. They overlap, obscure, control. But they are not complete. They cannot completely swallow the glow.

"Blockade" is not stagnation. It is tension. It is the struggle between narrowing and widening, between darkness and inner light. A painting about resilience – about how something within us keeps glowing even under pressure.
