Industrial pulley from the Rotterdam harbour, dating to the early 20th century, made of wood and forged iron with two wooden wheels, 28 cm high, 13 cm wide and 12 cm deep, weighing about 2.5 kg in good used condition.
Description from the seller
Very beautiful and decorative pulley. This industrial pulley probably comes from the port of Rotterdam. The pulley likely dates from the first quarter of the 20th century and is 28 cm high, 13 cm wide, 12 cm deep and weighs about 2.5 kg.
The pulley is still 100% original and looks as if it has been taken straight from an old harbor scene. In any interior this harbor tool is a very decorative item and conversation piece, but it can also be used to hang kitchen utensils, or a coat rack, or a lamp.
Beautiful about this pulley are the two wooden wheels (see photos). These wheels still run smoothly around the iron axle. The pulley is thus still functional and all connecting materials, such as the central bolt, the screws and the thick rivets are still original (see photos).
Very nice is the wood grain, the shine on it and the wear from use. The wood is a bit antique-brown. It is probably ash or oak, but that's hard to say for certain. The wooden rollers and the wrought iron elements give this pulley a atmospheric and captivating look! The wood and the weathered metal are conserved and have a nice shine. The pulley is still very sturdy and stable.
This pulley is a very nice decorative object, but it can also have a lamp hung on it, or another object. It could even still be used as a pulley! This industrial heritage is certainly a conversation piece!
The pulley is expertly packed and insured for shipment.
