Description from the seller
Since 2018, Warren Podguszer, known by the moniker Wawapod, has immersed himself in the world of Pop Art and street art in Paris, developing a unique style that fuses geometry and popular iconography. His work stands out for reusing emblematic icons through accumulations of dots, paying homage to the history of art and to the popular figures he admires.
Wawapod's artistic style oscillates between pixel art and modern pointillism, creating works that are both innovative and captivating. One of his distinctive techniques consists of painting directly on glass in display cases.
This process brings remarkable depth to his creations, thanks to a blend of abstract backgrounds made with acrylic knife and visually detailed compositions of tiny paint dots on the glass.
Homage to the video game Space Invaders.
The artist has created his own character inspired by Space Invaders.
This work is a unique piece, a rare artwork by the artist that represents for the first time this mythical 80s video game.
The artwork will be shipped by Colissimo, well wrapped in several layers of bubble wrap.
The background of the work has been hand-signed in blue more than 50 times on a black background.
Wawapod is a Parisian artist and street artist who exhibits across the country. His works are presented in several galleries in France and Europe.
WAWAPOD belongs to the same artistic current as: Jacques Villeglé, Invader, Jef Aerosol, Speedy Graphito, Vhils, Banksy, Mr Brainwash, Obey Shepard Fairey, Onemizer, C215, Basquiat, Keith Haring, Andy Warhol and Jerome Mesnager.
