Biography:
Daniela Scanu was born in Brescia in 1976. From a young age she displayed a marked creative aptitude, guiding her to studies in fashion and drawing. She attended the Istituto IPSIA Fortuny in Brescia, earning the diploma as a stylist and costume designer.
Subsequently, she did not continue in the fashion industry but pursued sports studies, which allowed her to become an international judge of pole sport and a sports instructor.
She taught for many years at sports centers and dance schools: Pole sport, aerial silk, yoga, Caribbean dances, Oriental dances, ballroom dancing, yoga.
Thanks to her tenacity and determination she achieved excellent results as an international athlete. Among the most important: 1st place in Tortosa, Spain at the "WSG 2019"; 2nd place in Finland at the "Championship 2019".
But her true vocation remains the art of photography, that silent love which, thanks to dance and sport, she continues to cultivate, deepening especially artistic nude, portraiture, and conceptual photography.
Daniela Scanu's photographic world is capable of impressing and enchanting the viewer; her distinctive sensitivity and strong expressive power reach a point of strong convergence between artistic photography and painting and sculpture.
The ability to translate a body into universal iconographies through which emotions and personal introspection travel.
The human body becomes the vehicle for transporting the soul, an expression of pain, but also of great inner rebirth.
