Artist:
Claude Venard (Paris, 1913 – Sanary-sur-Mer, 1999). Celebrated French painter, prominent exponent of the Paris School (École de Paris) in the post-war period, known for his post-Cubist style and his very personal synthesis of forms.
Title of the work:
"Le Sacré-Cœur à Montmartre" (View of Paris).
Technical Data and Edition:
Technique: Original color lithograph.
Year of creation: Approximately 1960-1965.
Edition: Limited edition of only 180 copies worldwide.
Numbering: Esemplar number 62/180, clearly handwritten in pencil at the bottom left.
Signature: Hand-signed by the artist ("C. Venard") at the bottom right in pencil.
Support: High-quality art paper (Arches-type or vellum), typical of fine French graphic editions of the 1960s.
