Description from the seller
EL CACTUS is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. In this work, the simplicity of the composition becomes visual strength. The scene is organized around three essential elements: the cactus, the ceramics, and the fruits, arranged on a blue-and-white striped table that provides rhythm and structure.
The intensely yellow background acts as a field of absolute light. It is not a simple backdrop, but a vibrant surface that enhances the deep green of the cactus and the delicate blue of the decorated vase. The contrast between yellow and blue creates a harmonious, luminous classic look, while the earthy red of the pot introduces a warm anchor at the base of the composition.
The cactus, upright and solid, occupies the central axis with firm verticality. Its rounded leaves, built with visible brushstrokes and green shades, convey a sense of resilience and balance. Beside it, the small still life of lemons and green fruits softens the structural rigidity with circular shapes and bright colors.
The striped table adds optical dynamism and depth, guiding the eye toward the center. The blue-and-white ceramics introduce an ornamental echo that dialogues with Mediterranean tradition and reinforces the feeling of a warm, sunny interior.
The Cactus is a celebration of essential form and direct color. A scene where stillness and compositional clarity convey serenity, balance, and an almost permanent light.
