A distinctive tool, presumably for shipbuilding, a shipyard.
Large wrought-iron, ornate heavy compass.
Marelpriem that fits together with the compass in a bamboo case. The case bears a mark from the VOC Amsterdam.
As an example, see the last two photos of an archaeological find at an old shipyard site of the VOC.
Also a large round mast compass, a measuring instrument made of wood and brass.
See the normal glasses in the photos for size comparison of the objects.
Krompasser mastpasser is 50 cm long and 26 cm wide.
Case is 42 cm long
Marelpriem is 24 cm long
Measuring caliper is 51 cm long
Finished wrought-iron compass is 26 cm long
