This is an original, handmade, unique piece, acrylic on canvas, 60 x 60 cm, without a frame.
Michael Tkatschow is a German artist and art lecturer at the Stade Art School.
He graduated from the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg, Department of Design and Illustration.
The artist works in various techniques (primarily acrylic painting and mixed media) and combines abstract and surreal forms and textures with figurative classical painting in his distinctive visual language.
The painting titled "Cultum" from 2014, is one of the artist's early works and part of the "Stigmata of the Cube" series, created between 2014 and 2016. In the surreal paintings of this series, the artist limits his palette to shades of gray, attempting to process and make tangible the darker aspects of life on canvas.
