The title "Bicho preguiça" in Portuguese, translated as "sloth," refers to the mammal native to South America (from where the artist comes) and Central America, and for Brazilians it represents the gentle "laziness" ("preguiça" as in its name) due to its slow movements among the tall tropical trees.
The girl portrayed stretches her arms in a sweet, lazy motion. Pay attention to the rendering of her hands, intertwined and illuminated in minute detail.
