JonFummo's limited edition mixed‑media print 'Canto di Libertà: Luce nel Buio' (2024), on canvas (90 × 60 cm), in excellent condition, edition 2 of 3, signed by hand, weight about 1 kg, origin Italy, sold directly from the artist, a portrait with spatulated and digital printing technique and an artist's certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
Edition number 2 of 3 prints,
Mixed-media technique, spatulated plus digital, printed on canvas including the artist's certificate of authenticity
"Canto di Libertà: Luce nel Buio" wants to be a denunciation; the colors in its tones from black to gray of the work aim to remind that acts of violence occur in secret. The red denounces the violence and the pain that those who suffer such acts may feel. The face of the woman represents all those who have been victims of violence, from someone who should love them, protect them, and defend them.
The use of the spatula imparts vigor to the work, creating a three-dimensional depth that emphasizes its physicality. The sharp cuts and the stratifications of the material thus become the extension of the very concept: a painterly gesture almost brutal that embodies the violence inflicted on the female body.
The name of this work, "Canto di Libertà: Luce nel Buio," is meant as a cry for help to raise awareness and not leave these horrors in the dark any longer.
